Climate Camp
Fitzroy Island, 4th and 5th December 2010
A
fun weekend of camping and climate action on Fitzroy Island. This tropical Climate
Camp was timed to coincide with the COP16 international climate
negotiations being held in Cancun, Mexico, and with a national climate camp being held at Bayswater Power station in the Hunter
Valley, NSW. Read the Media Release Why have a Climate Camp?
To encourage, inspire and
bring together people interested in climate action and to
strengthen the local climate movement.
To draw media attention
(through some fun actions) to the international negotiations
needed to phase out coal power stations and halt predicted
climate change impacts on the Great Barrier Reef.
